About the role:
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Health & Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards across the business.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, company policies and industry best practice. Working closely with managers, supervisors and employees, you will help drive a positive safety culture, support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to creating a safe and compliant working environment for all.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional who is passionate about safety, enjoys building relationships and wants to make a real impact across a busy operational environment.

• Supporting the development and review of risk assessments, safe systems of work and method statements.
Audits, Inspections & Compliance
Conducting workplace inspections, audits and assessments to identify hazards and monitor compliance.
• Tracking corrective actions and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Assisting with compliance activities and supporting management reviews.
Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement
Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and preventative actions.
• Monitoring HSE performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Encouraging positive safety behaviours and helping to strengthen the site's safety culture.
Training & Employee Engagement
Coordinating HSE inductions, training records and competency requirements.
• Delivering toolbox talks, awareness campaigns and safety briefings.
• Supporting employee engagement initiatives that promote health, safety and environmental awareness.
Reporting & Data Management
• Maintaining HSE records, documentation and reporting systems.
• Producing KPI reports, statistics and trend analysis to support business decision-making.
• Supporting the accurate reporting of HSE performance metrics and objectives

This will be suited to you if...
Experience & Knowledge
• You have experience in a Health, Safety or Environmental role and a good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• You have experience supporting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, utilities or logistics environments would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems is desirable.

• You are highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• You have excellent communication skills and can engage effectively with employees at all levels.
• You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can identify practical solutions to workplace challenges.
• You are confident using Microsoft Office applications and producing reports from performance data.
Personal Attributes
• You are passionate about promoting safe working practices and environmental responsibility.
• You are proactive, positive and committed to continuous improvement.
• You are comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours in a constructive and professional manner.
• You take ownership of your responsibilities and build positive working relationships across the business.
