The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CDM Advisor to join a specialist team delivering Principal Designer services across a diverse portfolio of complex and high-profile projects.
This position is ideal for someone with existing CDM / Principal Designer experience who is looking to further develop their expertise within a design-led environment. You will work alongside experienced Principal Designers, supporting the delivery of CDM services from concept through to construction while developing the skills and experience required to progress into a senior Principal Designer role.
The role offers exposure to exceptional projects, a structured development pathway, ongoing mentoring, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Principal Designer services across a range of construction projects.
Assist with design risk reviews and the application of the Principles of Prevention throughout the design process
Work closely with project teams to identify, eliminate and mitigate risks during the pre-construction phase.
Attend and contribute to design team meetings and risk workshops.
Support senior Principal Designers on larger, more complex projects.
Manage smaller projects independently with appropriate support and oversight.
Review design information and provide advice relating to CDM compliance and best practice.
Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reporting.
Build relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- 1-4 years' experience within a CDM Advisor, Principal Designer or similar health and safety role.
Experience working within construction, consultancy, design or the built environment sector.
A good understanding of CDM Regulations and the Principal Designer duty holder role
Experience of pre-construction health and safety and design risk management.
Knowledge of the Principles of Prevention and how they are applied during the design process.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive attitude and willingness to develop professionally.
