A specialist school in Swindon is looking for a motivated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join their dedicated support team. You will be working with children who have Autism, communication differences, sensory needs, and a range of additional learning requirements.

This Autism Support Assistant position is ideal for individuals who want to develop their understanding of Autism and gain practical experience supporting children in a structured and nurturing setting. You will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to help pupils feel confident, understood, and able to engage with their education.

In this role, the Autism Support Assistant will provide personalised support to pupils both in and outside the classroom. You will help students access learning activities, encourage communication, support social development, and assist with emotional regulation. You will also help pupils develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills while creating a positive and encouraging environment.

The role involves building strong relationships with students, understanding their individual needs, and using patience and consistency to support their progress. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will gain first-hand experience of specialist teaching approaches, behaviour support strategies, sensory needs, and inclusive education.
