This post is solely for ODP's and not registered nursesMain duties of the job- To co-ordinate and provide skilled clinical practise (without direct supervision) to patients, in accordance with responsibilities under HCPC Code of Conduct.
- To contribute to the continued development of Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), including the supervision of junior nurses/ODPs and support staff.
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based clinical care to a group of patients.
- Assist and contribute to the management and organisation of a theatre or unit
- Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing/ODP care.
- Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.
- Act as a clinical and professional role model, mentoring, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
