EYFS Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | September Start | Poole

Salary: £90–£100 per day (dependent on experience)
Location: Poole, Dorset
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Make a Difference from the Very Beginning

Are you passionate about supporting young children during the most important stage of their education? Do you have the enthusiasm, patience and creativity to help children build confidence, develop key life skills and fall in love with learning?

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with one of our friendly and welcoming mainstream primary schools in Poole, who are seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their fantastic Early Years team on a full-time basis from September.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a supportive school community where every child is encouraged to achieve their very best.

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting children throughout their school day. Working alongside an experienced class teacher and wider support staff, you'll help create an engaging, safe and nurturing learning environment where children can develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS lessons and activities
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and encourage participation
  • Supporting children with phonics, early reading, writing and number work
  • Encouraging learning through play and hands-on activities both indoors and outdoors
  • Helping children develop communication, confidence, independence and positive social skills
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
  • Observing children's progress and feeding back to the class teacher where appropriate
  • Promoting positive behaviour and helping children feel safe, happy and included throughout the school day
  • Providing personal care where required, in line with school policies

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring and genuinely passionate about Early Years education.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working within an EYFS, nursery, preschool or primary school setting
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable but not essential)
  • A warm, patient and nurturing approach with children
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life

What You'll Receive Through Teaching Personnel

At Teaching Personnel, we're committed to supporting our staff just as much as the schools we work with. When you join us, you'll benefit from:

  • Competitive weekly pay through PAYE
  • A dedicated Education Consultant who will support you every step of the way
  • Free access to CPD courses and professional development opportunities
  • Opportunities to secure permanent positions within our partner schools
  • Flexible opportunities across Dorset should you wish to broaden your experience
  • Ongoing support before, during and after your placement

Why Join This School?

This welcoming Poole primary school is proud of its inclusive and nurturing environment, where staff work collaboratively to ensure every child receives the very best start to their education. You'll be joining a supportive team that values creativity, kindness and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

If you're ready to begin a rewarding new role this September and would love to make a lasting impact on young learners, we'd love to hear from you.
