Salary: £33,000 with progression to £36,000 full time equivalent
Location: Hybrid - Exteter

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to join our service in Exeter. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, well organised and qualified person to Manage a team and deliver high quality non-clinical support to individuals in times of crisis.

We deliver high quality, recovery focused support to our clients who have a range of mental health needs as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse.

As Team Manager, you will oversee the delivery of a high-quality, recovery-focused crisis support service across Exeter and the surrounding areas. You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team, manage referrals, risk and safeguarding, ensure excellent client outcomes, and maintain strong partnerships with NHS and voluntary sector organisations.

You will also be responsible for service performance, staffing, recruitment, reporting, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and contractual requirements, helping to deliver a safe, effective, and person-centred service.

About you

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated leader who is passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges. You will be confident in leading and inspiring a team, creating a positive and inclusive working environment where staff feel supported to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused services.

You'll be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities, make informed decisions, and build effective relationships with colleagues, partner organisations and commissioners. You will be proactive, resilient and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to lead by example and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and person-centred care.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent related qualification.
• Experience of working within a recovery-focused mental health or social inclusion service.
• Experience of delivering services within a community-based health or social care setting.
• Proven experience of managing staff, including supervision, performance management, appraisals, recruitment and staff development.
• Experience of service, operational or project management, with the ability to manage resources effectively and deliver against agreed objectives.
• Experience of managing and monitoring budgets.
• A track record of achieving performance targets and driving service improvements.
• A genuine commitment to improving the lives of people experiencing mental health difficulties, with an understanding of recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches.
