Job description
Vickerstock are excited to be partnering with our award winning FMCG client who are dedicated to delivering excellence and are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Technical Team Lead to join the team at their state-of-the-art factory based in Craigavon. With 5 production sites across the whole of Ireland, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced food manufacturing professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role within a fast-paced, quality-focused environment You will be responsible for managing and supporting the Technical Assistants to ensure site compliance with food safety, quality standards, and customer specifications. ensuring products consistently meet customer, legal and food safety requirements while driving continuous improvement across site. What your day to day will look like: Leading and supporting the Technical Assistants on a day-to-day basis. Ensuring site compliance with food safety, quality and customer standards. Managing finished product release and product hold procedures. Monitoring product quality through routine assessments, quality panels and shelf-life evaluations. Producing monthly technical KPI reports and analysing performance trends. Delivering food safety training and technical briefings to operational teams. Monitoring CCPs, ingredient controls, weights, labelling, metal detection and calibration activities. Investigating quality issues and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Maintaining the site's Quality Management System in line with BRC, customer and legislative requirements. Carrying out factory audits covering hygiene, GMP and housekeeping standards. Supporting internal, customer and third-party audits, including hosting customer visits. Preparing audit responses, corrective action plans and customer reports. Managing responses to customer quality issues and out-of-specification results. Maintaining accurate technical documentation, records and training matrices. Working closely with Production to drive continuous improvement across food safety and quality performance. What you will need to succeed: Food-related degree or equivalent qualification. 3-5 years' experience within a Technical or Quality role in food manufacturing. Experience working with major retail customers. Previous experience supporting or leading a technical team. Strong understanding of food safety legislation, quality systems and customer standards. Experience participating in and hosting customer and third-party audits. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. Confident using your own initiative and making decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
