The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Digital Design Lead to oversee the strategic development, implementation, and maintenance of CAD and BIM standards across the Stantec Energy & Resources UK business. This role will lead the creation, governance, and continuous improvement of multi‑platform design standards, ensuring consistency and quality across a wide range of engineering disciplines and software environments. In addition to setting strategy, the role will be hands‑on in managing and coordinating BIM/CAD modelling work tasks between UK teams and our offshore design centre in Pune, with the flexibility to undertake model authoring when required. The successful candidate will also provide leadership to a team of 3D BIM modellers, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of 3D modelling workflows using Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, and other relevant platforms. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting complex projects across Waterpower & Dams, Transmission & Distribution, Renewable Energy, Nuclear, Waste & Generation, and Minerals & Resources, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality BIM outputs aligned with project requirements, client expectations, and industry standards. You will develop the BIM Execution Plan and subsequent Master Information Delivery Plans and Task Information Delivery Plans, ensuring everything aligns with the Exchange Information Requirements. You will work in collaboration with the Information management team to establish Common Data Environments, standards and procedures to support digital delivery in accordance with ISO 19650. You will oversee planning and managing document / information management systems with review and approval workflows while supporting the design and modelling team through the delivery phase, providing support and guidance and checks / reviews of progress, quality and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a person who is passionate about sustainable energy and eager to make a significant impact in the industry.
