Supply Desk is seeking an inspirational and dedicated Post-16 SEN Teacher to join a highly regarded specialist school in the Borehamwood area. This rewarding opportunity involves teaching and supporting young people aged 16–19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, preparing them for greater independence, further education, and life beyond school.

This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who is committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of young people with additional needs while helping them develop the confidence and skills required for adulthood.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that meet the educational and developmental needs of Post-16 learners with Autism and SEMH needs

  • Use individual education plans and EHCP outcomes to inform teaching, assessment, and target setting
  • Implement positive behaviour support strategies to encourage self-regulation, resilience, and confidence
  • Work closely with therapists, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student development
  • Monitor progress, celebrate achievements, and adapt teaching approaches to ensure every learner reaches their potential
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, community-based learning, and preparation for further education, employment, or supported living

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, or other additional learning needs
  • A strong understanding of personalised learning and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting young people
  • A commitment to preparing students for successful, independent futures

What We Offer

  • Competitive Weekly Pay
  • Access to Accredited CPD and Specialist SEND Training
  • Dedicated Local Education Consultant
  • Supportive School Placements with Opportunities for Permanent Employment
  • Comprehensive Training package
  • £100 Refer-a-Friend Bonus Scheme
