The successful candidate will teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop creativity, technical knowledge, problem-solving skills and confidence through innovative design and practical projects.

The Role

As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will:

  Deliver engaging and well-structured Design Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.

• \n

  Inspire students through creative, practical and innovative design projects.

\n
• \n

  Plan and deliver lessons that challenge, engage and support learners of all abilities.

\n
• \n

  Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong outcomes.

\n
• \n

  Develop students' practical, technical and problem-solving skills.

\n
• \n

  Promote safe working practices within specialist workshop environments.

\n
• \n

  Create a positive and inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.

  Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.

  Support enrichment opportunities, including STEM projects, design competitions and extracurricular clubs.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

\n

  Experience teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4.

• \n

  The ability to teach one or more specialist areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics or CAD/CAM is desirable.

• \n

  Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Design Technology.

\n
• \n

  Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

\n
• \n

  High expectations of student achievement and progress.

\n
• \n

  A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  The ability to contribute positively to a successful Technology department.
