Job summary
Are you an experienced Clinical Pharmacist looking to make a genuine impact in a growing independent hospital? At Optimised Care, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping pharmacy services across our consultant-led elective surgical pathways, helping to deliver exceptional patient care while influencing the future of medicines management.

This is far more than a traditional pharmacy role. You'll work closely with consultants, anaesthetists, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimise perioperative medicines, enhance patient safety, and develop clinical pharmacy standards across specialties including Orthopaedics, Plastics and Gynaecology. You'll lead on medicines governance, quality improvement, audit, antimicrobial stewardship and CQC compliance, ensuring our services meet the highest professional standards.

As part of a forward-thinking organisation, you'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, develop innovative pharmacy services, and drive continuous improvement within a supportive and collaborative environment. Whether leading medication safety initiatives, participating in pre-assessment clinics, or developing policies that improve patient outcomes, your expertise will directly shape the quality of care we provide.

If you're passionate about clinical excellence, patient safety and delivering outstanding healthcare, we'd love to welcome you to Optimised Care and support you in taking the next step in your career.

Main duties of the job
As our Senior Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide expert clinical leadership for medicines management across the hospital's elective surgical services. Working alongside consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will optimise medication use throughout the patient journey, ensuring safe, effective and evidence-based care.

You will lead on clinical governance, medicines optimisation, audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, helping to develop and enhance pharmacy services as the organisation continues to grow. The role also involves supporting pre-assessment clinics, advising clinicians on complex medication queries, reviewing treatment plans, contributing to antimicrobial stewardship, and ensuring compliance with CQC requirements and Royal Pharmaceutical Society standards.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on clinical practice with strategic leadership, giving you the chance to influence policies, improve surgical pathways, and make a lasting impact on patient outcomes within a modern, consultant-led independent hospital.

About us
At Optimised Care, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding consultant-led healthcare with patient safety, quality and compassion at the centre of everything we do. Our independent hospital provides high-quality elective surgical services across a range of specialties, supported by experienced clinicians and a multidisciplinary team committed to achieving the very best outcomes for our patients.

We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, inclusive and forward-thinking working environment where every team member is valued and encouraged to contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement. You'll work alongside highly skilled consultants, nurses, allied health professionals and support teams who share a passion for clinical excellence and exceptional patient care.

As a growing organisation, we offer genuine opportunities to influence service development, broaden your skills and progress your career. We actively support continuing professional development, encourage innovation and invest in our people, creating an environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally.

If you're looking to join an organisation that values expertise, teamwork and making a real difference to patients, Optimised Care offers the opportunity to build a rewarding and fulfilling career.
