WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our Electrical & Mechanical Services team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role will be based in Glasgow and will benefit from hybrid working, alongside regular travel to operational sites across Scotland.

Working alongside experienced Delivery Managers, Project Managers, engineers and site teams, you will support the delivery of electrical, mechanical and MEICA maintenance activities across water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will gain practical experience across planned and reactive maintenance, asset inspections, site surveys, project coordination, installation, commissioning and project close-out. You will also develop an understanding of planning, commercial management, cost control and client delivery.

Previous experience within the water sector is not essential. We are looking for someone with a relevant engineering disciple degree, a genuine interest in practical engineering delivery and the motivation to build a long-term career within essential infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the planning and delivery of planned, reactive and inspection-led maintenance activities across water and wastewater assets.
• Assisting with site surveys, technical assessments, work scopes, project documentation and short-term delivery plans.
• Helping coordinate labour, materials, plant, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.
• Supporting installation, testing, commissioning, project close-out and asset handover activities.
• Tracking progress, costs, resources, changes and delivery risks, while maintaining accurate project and maintenance records.
• Working closely with Delivery Managers, engineers, supervisors, planners, commercial teams and clients.
• Taking part in site briefings, toolbox talks, audits and inspections, while completing the technical and safety training required for your development.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• A BEng, MEng, BSc or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering, technical, construction or project management discipline.
• A genuine interest in practical engineering, maintenance and operational delivery.
• Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and curious approach to learning.
• The ability to build positive working relationships, manage priorities and maintain accurate records.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new systems, processes and technical disciplines.
• A full UK driving licence, or a commitment to obtaining one within an agreed period, alongside flexibility to travel regularly to operational sites.

Previous placement, internship, apprenticeship or site-based experience would be helpful, as would awareness of MEICA systems, water or wastewater processes, technical drawings, project planning or commercial principles, but these are not essential.
