Associate IT Administrator
£12.71 - £13.50 per hour

The Best Connection are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Associate IT Administrator to join our team and provide support across IT, infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user technology services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their IT career who wants to gain hands-on experience supporting computer systems, servers, software, and users in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and standard software.
- Support the ongoing availability and performance of IT systems through routine maintenance, updates, and patching.
- Monitor system alerts, logs, and performance issues, escalating problems where required.
- Provide first-line technical support and assist users with IT-related queries.
- Support backup, recovery, and security procedures.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system records, and user guides.
- Assist with IT asset management, equipment tracking, and software licensing.
- Support hardware upgrades, installations, and equipment provisioning.
- Develop basic scripts and automation tools to improve routine IT processes.
- Work with internal teams and suppliers to support effective IT operations.
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Interested in developing a career in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
- Organised, detail-focused, and able to follow established processes.
- Confident communicating with users and explaining technical information clearly.
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
Skills & Experience:
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree, qualification, or training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related subject (or equivalent practical experience).
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer hardware.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Familiarity with Active Directory is desirable.
- Some experience with scripting, IT support tools, monitoring systems, or backup solutions is beneficial.
- Previous IT support experience is welcomed, but candidates with strong technical interest and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
