Job description

About Methods

Methods is a £100M+ IT Services Consultancy that partners with central government departments, agencies, and commercial organisations to deliver meaningful digital transformation. Established over 30 years ago and UK-based, we combine expertise in transformation, delivery, technology, and collaboration to create people-centred solutions that deliver lasting value.

Predominantly focused on the public sector, whilst continuing to expand its private sector presence, Methods combines deep consulting expertise with the capability and scale of the Alten Group, which acquired Methods in 2022.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded ServiceNow Pre-Sales & Assurance Consultant to support business development activities, shape winning solutions, and provide delivery assurance across our ServiceNow portfolio.

This role sits at the intersection of sales, solution design, and delivery excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with account teams, proposition leads, architects, and delivery teams to ensure that ServiceNow opportunities are both compelling and deliverable.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

The ServiceNow Pre-Sales & Assurance Consultant carries out the following activities:

1. Pre-Sales & Business Development

  • Support the sales team in identifying and qualifying ServiceNow opportunities across public and private sector clients.
  • Lead discovery workshops with prospective customers to understand business challenges, objectives, and requirements.
  • Shape solution approaches that align customer outcomes with Methods' ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Contribute to bids, proposals, framework responses, RFPs, and presentations.
  • Develop compelling business cases, value propositions, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Present ServiceNow solutions to senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Support account planning activities and identify opportunities for service expansion within existing customers.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners, including ServiceNow, to develop joint opportunities.

2. Solution Design & Opportunity Leadership

  • Act as the lead solution designer for ServiceNow opportunities.
  • Define solution architectures, delivery approaches, operating models, and target outcomes.
  • Ensure proposed solutions align with ServiceNow best practice, platform capabilities, and customer objectives.
  • Produce high-quality solution documentation, including architectures, service models, implementation plans, and estimates.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to validate assumptions, resource requirements, risks, and dependencies.
  • Support commercial modelling and effort estimation activities.
  • Ensure solutions reflect industry standards, governance requirements, and security considerations.

3. Delivery Assurance & Quality Governance

  • Provide independent assurance on ServiceNow programmes and projects throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Review project artefacts, designs, delivery plans, and governance processes to identify delivery risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to agreed methodologies, platform standards, and implementation best practice.
  • Conduct health checks and assurance reviews for ongoing engagements.
  • Support project mobilisation activities to ensure a seamless transition from sales to delivery.
  • Provide guidance and challenge to delivery teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Identify lessons learned and contribute to the continuous improvement of Methods' ServiceNow delivery capability.
  • Support customer governance boards and executive stakeholder reviews where required.

4. Capability Development

  • Support the development of ServiceNow propositions, accelerators, reusable assets, and thought leadership.
  • Contribute to Methods' ServiceNow community through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and best practice development.
  • Maintain awareness of ServiceNow product developments, licensing changes, and emerging industry trends.
  • Support internal capability growth through coaching and pre-sales enablement activities.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a ServiceNow consulting, architecture, pre-sales, or solution design role.
  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and its key modules, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SecOps, IRM/GRC, HRSD, CSM, and App Engine.
  • Experience leading solution design activities for complex digital transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting bids, proposals, and customer presentations.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement and framework-based opportunities.
  • Experience performing delivery assurance, governance reviews, or programme health checks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and technical teams.
  • Commercially aware, with experience supporting estimation, business cases, and opportunity qualification.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work across multiple opportunities and engagements simultaneously.
  • Experience of Agile, ITIL, DevOps, or service management practices would be advantageous.

Professional Qualifications (Desirable)

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Master Architect (desirable)
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Agile Practitioner, Scrum Master, PRINCE2, or equivalent delivery qualification

Why Join Methods?

  • Opportunity to shape and lead high-profile ServiceNow opportunities across government and commercial sectors.
  • Work alongside experienced consultants, architects, and digital transformation experts.
  • Access to continuous learning, professional development, and certification support.
  • Be part of a collaborative, people-centred organisation that values innovation, delivery excellence, and long-term customer relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth of one of Methods' strategic Enterprise Platform propositions and play a key role in expanding our ServiceNow capability.

This role will require you to have, or be willing to undergo, appropriate security clearance depending on client requirements.
