Main duties of the job
As a General Practitioner, you will deliver comprehensive primary care consultations through multiple modalities (face-to-face, video, telephone), manage acute and chronic conditions, and conduct home visits when necessary. You will also oversee chronic disease management, and maintain high standards in patient care. The role includes mentorship of junior staff, involvement in clinical teaching, and opportunities to lead quality improvement initiatives. Administrative excellence and adherence to clinical governance frameworks are vital to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Job responsibilities
We are seeking an exceptional General Practitioner to join our thriving and innovative NHS practice in London. This is a salaried position offering an unparalleled opportunity to combine clinical excellence with professional growth in a supportive forward-thinking environment.

As a General Practitioner you will deliver comprehensive consultations across multiple modalities including face-to-face video and telephone appointments tailored to meet the diverse needs of our patient population. You will manage acute and emergency presentations with appropriate urgency and precision ensuring safe and effective outcomes for patients. You will also provide domiciliary visits for housebound patients ensuring continuity of care and extending our practices high standards to patients in their homes.

You will oversee chronic disease management programs adhering to the latest clinical guidelines and optimizing patient outcomes through individualized care plans. You will perform minor surgical procedures within appropriate clinical governance frameworks enhancing the range of services available to our patients. You will establish and maintain effective referral pathways to secondary care services ensuring seamless patient journeys and timely access to specialist interventions.

As part of our team you will supervise and mentor junior medical staff including foundation doctors GP trainees and allied healthcare professionals providing expert guidance and support. Qualifications
Essential

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice and inclusion on the GP Register.
  • Completion of GP specialty training (CCT or equivalent).
  • Experience of working in NHS General Practice.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and revalidation compliance.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to current clinical guidelines.
  • Commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, and maintaining high standards of care.


Desirable

  • Experience in supervising or mentoring junior doctors, medical students, or allied healthcare professionals.
  • Special interest in areas such as chronic disease management, or women's health.
  • Completed postgraduate qualifications relevant to General Practice (e.g., Diploma in Dermatology or Family Planning).
  • Understanding and experience in primary care innovation or service improvement.
  • Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne, or similar GP software systems.
  • Interest or experience in leadership roles within a clinical setting.
  • Additional languages spoken relevant to the local community.
