The Role



The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.

We have a new permanent opportunity for a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter based in the Salisbury and Bournemouth area to join our Fortem Planned works team at Stonewater Housing which uses core Plumbing and Carpentry skills.


The Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter will be responsible for the full removal and reinstallations of the planned kitchens and bathrooms within a timeframe of approx: 5 days.


Using Aqua panelling and some patch plastering where needed ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision.


Operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters.


The majority of social housing properties will be based in Salisbury and Bournemouth but some travel to other areas across the South West region will be required so travel is essential


Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm - Work Van, Fuel card, Power Tools provided!


The Customer


Stonewater Housing is one of our long term contracts. We look after over 7,500 houses in 4 different areas of the South-West, from Taunton and Yeovil, over to Bristol and Swindon and down to Salisbury and Bournemouth.


We currently deliver Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Capital Works and an Electrical Service program. We pride ourselves on our great customer service and our senior leadership team has years of experience within this sector which can help you develop your learning and knowledge base.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • The Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter will be responsible for the full removal and reinstallations of the planned kitchens and bathrooms within a timeframe of 5 days.


Using Aqua panelling and some patch plastering where needed ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision.


Completing work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.


Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.


Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.


Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.


Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.


Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.


Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times


Operating within the company's occupational road risk policies and procedures


Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.



What you will need


The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:


Essential:



  • NVQ/qualifications in relation to relevant trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) or equivalent, however anyone qualified by experience will also be considered


Full Kitchen/ Bathroom refitting experience including all Plumbing and Carpentry


Full, driving licence (max 5 points)


Must be able to pass basic DBS checks
