Job description
We're looking for a compassionate female driver to join our supported living team. Working in a 24/7 service on a rolling rota, you'll use active support to promote independence, choice, and meaningful lives for the people we support.

*About the role*

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team where collaboration, compassion, and person-centred support are at the heart of everything we do. Using an active support approach, you'll encourage choice, promote independence, and help people live fulfilling lives while achieving their personal goals.

We have a range of permanent part-time opportunities available, as well as a 24-hour maternity cover role for approximately 9 months. As our service operates 24/7, flexibility is essential. Shifts are worked on a four-week rolling rota and include days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, with day shifts typically falling between 7am and 11pm.

You'll be based in a unique, spacious six-bedroom home with two communal living areas and a large garden, currently home to five individuals, two females and three males aged between 22 and 70, all with learning disabilities. They are sociable, full of personality, and enjoy spending time in the community, with local transport links close by.

No two days are the same. You'll support people with daily living skills, household tasks, shopping, appointments, and maintaining their home, while also encouraging participation in hobbies, interests, and community activities. From dining out and attending local events to exploring interests such as steam trains, vintage cars, and favourite TV programmes, you'll help create meaningful opportunities that reflect each person's preferences and choices.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference while being part of a caring, values-driven team, we'd love to hear from you.

*What You’ll Be Doing*

* Supporting a sociable group to stay active in the community, with great local transport links nearby * Encouraging independence through a “do with, not do for” approach, adapting to individual routines and day-to-day changes * Promoting community involvement, hobbies, and new experiences, from meals out to interests like steam trains, vintage cars and events * Supporting with daily living tasks including cooking, shopping (in-store and online), and maintaining a comfortable home environment * Providing light personal care where needed (mainly prompts and supervision), along with medication support * Completing admin tasks such as booking appointments, contacting GPs, budgeting support, and maintaining accurate digital records * Driving individuals to activities and appointments while offering companionship, emotional support, and bringing fresh ideas to the team

*Skills and Experience Needed*

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

* I.T numeracy & digital literacy * Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers * A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as you’ll be required to drive mobility vehicles. * Due to the specific needs of the individuals supported and current legal guidance, this role is open to biologically female applicants only.
