Job summary
The CCPNR is a specialist community service for children with non-progressive acquired brain injuries in the East of England. It is a dynamic, innovative service provided by CPFT that has an international reputation for delivery of integrated, multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation for children.

CCPNR is also embedded within the Psychological Medicine for Children and Families service at Addenbrookes and is part of the children's directorate within CPFT

The post holder will provide leadership and specialist psychological supervision for community rehabilitation at the Cambridge Centre for Paediatric Neuropsychological Rehabilitation (CCPNR). We would consider a job share.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention for children and young people, including the selection and interpretation of complex psychometric assessments. They will develop and deliver evidence-based neurorehabilitation plans within a multidisciplinary team, offering expert consultation, advice and training to colleagues, families, schools and wider agencies.

They will take clinical responsibility for risk assessment, treatment planning, care coordination and progress monitoring, communicating complex information sensitively to patients and professionals. The role includes contributing to service development, leading research, audit and evaluation projects, and providing supervision to trainees and psychologists within the team.

The post-holder will maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping, use specialist IT and statistical tools, and support quality, safety and governance processes including safeguarding, incident reporting and adherence to NICE and Trust guidelines. They will also contribute to staff development, recruitment, and ongoing training within the service.

• Provide specialist assessment and clinical formulation using complex neuropsychological and psychological data.
• Administer and interpret specialist psychometric tests; supervise others in test administration.
• Develop and implement neuropsychological rehabilitation plans within an appropriate theoretical framework and with the multidisciplinary team.

Education / Qualifications
Essential

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical/educational psychology as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and developmental psychology.
• Postdoctoral level training in paediatric neuropsychology as recognised by the BPS
• Registered with the Health and Care professions Council

• Member of the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists

Experience
Essential

• Experience of delivering interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation to children, teenagers and their families.
• Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for patients' neuropsychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of a multi-disciplinary care plan.
• Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision.
• Experience of producing research publications in good quality peer reviewed scientific journals.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills.

• Formal training in supervision of other neuropsychologists.

Knowledge & Understanding
Essential

• Doctoral level knowledge of clinical/educational psychology including highly developed knowledge of lifespan developmental psychology, models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, and two or more distinct psychological therapies.
• Post doctoral knowledge of clinical neuropsychology and in particular highly complex models of developmental brain behaviour relationships including differential effects at age of injury, type of injury location of injury for plasticity and degeneration of neural systems and associated cognitive behavioural sequelae.
• Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the patient group and mental health.
• Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS

Desirable

• Familiarity with the service specifications for children with acquired brain injuries (including the use of categorisation tools and funding pathways)
• Post-doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of neuropsychology and systems neuroscience.
