Associate Trainer Responsibility for deliveringCSE Training Role: Associate Trainerresponsible for delivery of CSE training Location: Across Northern Ireland and Online Reports to: Early Intervention and Prevention Co Ordinator Contracttype: Associate: Self- Employed Salary: £50 per session(based on 90-minute sessions) Mileagefor travelwill be paid at45p per mile as per HMRC guidelines About Nexus? Nexus is a Northern Ireland wide charity and 2024 marked 40 years of providing services in supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse and abusive relationships.???? Every year in Northern Ireland there are thousands of sexual?offences?reported to PSNI, and thousands more that go unreported. Without specialist support like ours, victims of these crimes will find it even harder to deal with the trauma they experience. The impact of this trauma can be devastating and is lifelong.?? We deliver a range of bespoke and specialised supports and services including:?? Trauma informed counselling to those affected by sexual assault and trauma from age 8?? Post counselling support and follow-up?? A UK wide 24 hour Domestic and Sexual Abuse Helpline, which is funded by the Department of Health, Department of Justice, and the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland?? Education and Training initiatives delivered to a breadth of organisations, professionals, parents,?schools?and young people on topics such as consent, child sexual exploitation, handling?disclosures?and healthy relationships.?? ? Job Purpose To deliverCSEWorkshops on behalf of Nexus ensuring an exceptional standard of facilitation, engagement, and promotion of all Nexus services. Thisrolewill involve delivering tailored workshopsto a range of single and multi- agency staff,mainly frontlineworkers who support children and young people. The training will ensure thatindividualsfocus on recognising the signs and risks associated with CSEensuring delegates know how to respond within child protection procedures for Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will: Ensureworkshops aredelivered to a consistently high-qualitystandard Ensurethe professionalpractice andconsistentdelivery ofallprojectrequirements. Record attendance at sessions, collating evaluations, feedback, and all relevant data for use in weekly,monthly,and quarterly reporting to enable continuous improvement within the products we offer. Completeresearchto informthe design ofup-to-datecontentand evaluatethe CSEprogramme in line with Nexus Strategicobjectivesand Funder requirements. Beexperienced in hosting training sessionsinvarious locations including corporate offices,government buildings,community settings,secure units such as prisons and across all levels of educationsettings. In line with Nexuss safeguarding policy,maintainactive engagement on all safeguarding matters so that issues are dealt with in a compliant and professional manner, withappropriate escalationto and involvement of, senior management and external agencies. Support the Early Intervention and Prevention Team to raise awareness of Nexus services to external stakeholders and service users. Personal Specification Shows a proventrack recordhavingdemonstratedthe essential skills, abilities,knowledgeand/or qualifications required to be able to carry out the duties of this post. Essential Criteria To be eligible to apply for the post you must be able todemonstrateoneof the following categories of experience in addition to theessential criteria listed: Category One 3 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity AND Possess a University Degree or a professional qualification in one of the following disciplines or equivalent: Social Work (CQSW, CCS Dip SW) Nursing (Registered Adult Nurse) Allied Health Professional Category Two 4 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity AND Possess a QCF Level 5 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent NVQ Level 4) Category Three 5 years' experience working with CSE in a professional capacity. Demonstrated experience working with trauma, abuse and / or complex issues Proven experience in matters related to safeguarding laws,procedures,and escalation. Proven experienceindemonstratingexcellent presentation skillswith the ability to engage withprofessionalbodies, corporateclientsand the public. Excellent written and verbal communication skills:Possessesthe ability to communicate clearly,confidently,and conciselyto a wide range of audiences. Self-starter,highly motivatedand works well under pressure:organised, proactive andcanbe agile whilst delivering sessions to fulfil the needs of the participantsand the demands oftheannual trainingcalendar. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office to an intermediate level, familiar with audio/ visual equipmentandhave a clear understanding and confidenceinpresentation for onlineand in- persondelivery. Due to the nature of the role, you willbe requiredto drive to various locations, delivering programmes and courses across Northern Ireland. Applicantsmust be willing to travel and have access totheir own car and hold a clean driving licence. Desirable Criteria: 2 years of experience working with SexualAbuse andTrauma in a professional capacity Training qualification(AET,CET,CAVA) Experience working in the voluntary sector.
