Role Description The Multi Route Partner role is a full-time, on-site position based in Darlington, England. In this role, the partner manages multiple delivery routes, ensuring parcels are collected, sorted, and delivered accurately and on time. Day-to-day responsibilities include loading and unloading vehicles, planning efficient delivery sequences, following DPD operational processes, and maintaining clear communication with depot staff and customers. The Multi Route Partner is expected to handle documentation and scanning requirements, adhere to safety and compliance standards, and represent DPD professionally on every route. The role may involve working to tight deadlines, navigating varying traffic and weather conditions, and supporting colleagues to maintain high service levels.
Qualifications
- Experience in multi-drop or route-based delivery operations, preferably within parcel or logistics services.
- Strong route planning, time management, and organizational skills to manage multiple delivery areas efficiently.
- Reliable driving record and ability to operate delivery vehicles safely, following all traffic and company regulations.
- Good communication and customer service skills for interacting with depot teams and recipients professionally.
- Comfort with handheld devices, scanning equipment, and basic digital tools used in parcel tracking and documentation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving parcels, in line with health and safety guidance.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to manage delivery issues, route changes, and unexpected delays.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including peak periods and potential weekend shifts, as required by depot operations.
- Prior experience in logistics, transport, or courier services is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to complete any required background or driving record checks.
