Job overview:

Shape the future of AXA UK as a Strategic People Partner to our executive team. We're looking for an experienced People leader who can operate as a trusted advisor to ExCom and senior leaders, translating business strategy into impactful people plans that drive measurable outcomes. This is a strategic, influential role for a seasoned HR professional who will coach and challenge senior stakeholders, bring fresh thinking, and help shape the evolution of our People model as the business continues to transform.

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand and influence the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy, by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational knowledge skills and behaviour's.
  • Act as the UK Lead for broad People topics across AXA UK. Ensure progress is tracked and reported, and stakeholders are kept engaged and up to date at a UK transversal level. Build close and effective relationships with the COEs to secure their expertise to deliver on the People Strategy.
  • Design and deliver organisation development interventions to increase organisational efficiency and embed the desired culture and behaviour changes.
  • Lead organisation design projects to develop operating models that deliver desired business outcomes within your function.
  • Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training.
  • Work with the COE's to deploy appropriate talent solutions to fill identified skill gaps.
  • Act as the advocate for leading the talent management and development plans for the business unit with a focus on building the capability of leaders, building skills and capabilities of the workforce, and ensuring succession plans are in place.
  • Identify culture gaps that is a risk to delivery of the business strategy, and ensure a plan is in place to address the gaps. Lead on any Culture change required to address the culture gaps identified.

Your skills & experience:

  • Significant experience influencing, coaching and constructively challenging ExCom, senior leadership teams and other senior stakeholders, with the communication style and credibility to shape decisions at the most senior levels.
  • Extensive experience operating within large, complex matrix organisations, with the ability to balance functional, business unit and enterprise priorities while maintaining clarity, pace and alignment.
  • Proven strategic HR leadership experience, including translating business strategy into medium- and long-term people plans that address talent, capability, organisation design, culture and leadership priorities.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience using financial performance, workforce metrics and business insight to identify people interventions that improve organisational effectiveness and create measurable commercial value.
  • Deep technical HR expertise and senior advisory experience, with the judgement to guide leaders through complex employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and people risk matters.
  • Highly developed analytical capability, with experience interrogating multiple data sources, identifying trends and using insight to influence senior decision-making, prioritise action and measure the impact of people initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and industry awareness, with the ability to bring external thinking, market insight and emerging HR practice to senior conversations and use this to challenge existing approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and complexity, using sound judgement, resilience and adaptability to make effective decisions and maintain progress where direction, ownership or outcomes may be unclear.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Trade Union colleagues and employee representative groups on sensitive or complex people matters, building constructive relationships and influencing pragmatic, balanced outcomes.
  • Skilled at managing competing senior stakeholder needs across a matrix organisation, creating alignment, resolving tension and keeping strategic people priorities moving at pace.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
