Job description

Job summary
To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised, holistic patient care in conjunction with the inter-professional team.

As a proficient practitioner in vascular nursing, the post holder acts provide a seamless specialist nursing service that is aimed at continuously improving standards of care. This will be achieved through clinical practice, management, education, research and professional activities. This will take into account corporate and Vascular Surgery objectives and work within the clinical governance framework. The role aims to provide an integrated service between the acute areas and community setting.

Main duties of the job
The Vascular Nurse Specialist will work as an practitioner within a defined clinical area, in partnership with the multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will act as a senior resource within the vascular team.

The Vascular Nurse Specialist will be required to work within local and nationally agreed protocols and guidelines and hold advanced physical assessment skills. The successful post holder will be required to use their independent judgment to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical care and management of vascular patients within a defined clinical area.
