Job description

We are looking for a passionate and patient individual to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Supported Living service in Tredegar.

This is a 16 hour, permanent position where you have the opportunity to provide care and support to 3 incredible individuals with learning disabilities.

If you’re ready to support incredible people, grow your skills, and join a team that celebrates your dedication, we’d love to hear from you!

*Who are Codi Group?*

Codi is a not-for-profit with a big heart and an even bigger mission. As Wales’ largest provider of housing, care, and support, we’re here to help people live well, feel supported, and rise to their full potential.

Every day, our teams support nearly 17,000 individuals across Wales with services that make a real and uplifting difference to their everyday lives.

Our name says it all: ‘Codi’ means _rise_ in Welsh. It reflects who we are, where we come from, and our ambition to lift expectations, lift communities, and lift each other.

*About the role*

We support three individuals living together in a welcoming house, where we’ve built long‑standing and trusting relationships over many years. The people we support have a wide range of needs, and our approach is just as varied, from managing finances and medication, to health‑related support, emotional reassurance, building confidence in daily tasks, and accompanying individuals to social outings, hobbies, and meaningful activities in the community.

Our team is passionate about celebrating progress. We take great pride in seeing people grow, achieve new milestones, and gain independence, whether that’s mastering a daily living skill, becoming more active within the community, or simply feeling more confident day to day.

We also support three individuals living independently in their own flats within an ILS Hub on the same street. Here, we provide light‑touch support with maintaining a clean and safe home, shopping, medication prompts, meal preparation, company, meaningful activities, and general reassurance, always with a focus on independence and wellbeing.

* Rolling rota including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (9.5 hours, paid on top of your contracted hours)

* Typical day shifts: 7:30am – 10:30pm

* Every other weekend off - because work-life balance matters

* The chance to make a genuine difference every single day

*Key Duties will Involve:*

* Supporting with individuals’ hobbies and activities. * Providing person-centered support for daily needs, including personal care (showering, bathing, brushing teeth, continence care, etc.). * Supporting dietary needs and food preparation. * Offering emotional support. * Completing cleaning and administrative tasks. * Administering and managing medication. * Monitoring individual medication stocks and finances. * Bringing innovative ideas to improve team practices and keeping digital records.

*Skills and Experience Needed*

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.

Please ensure your application evidences experience of the following:

* IT, Literacy & numeracy skills * Experience working as part of a team and customer service skills
