The National Housing Bank (NHB) is a new government-backed financial institution, operating as a subsidiary of Homes England, established to unlock investment and accelerate housing delivery across England.
We're looking for a Director, Fund Management & Portfolio Strategy to join the NHB Senior Leadership Team and help shape one of the UK's most significant housing finance platforms.
Salary: c. £140,000–£150,000 plus benefits, depending on skills and experience.
Reporting to: Chief Investment Officer
You will lead oversight of the NHB's full investment portfolio, spanning debt, equity, guarantees and future investment products, helping direct more than £22bn of capital and commitments towards the areas of greatest strategic impact.
Working closely with the CIO, CEO and wider Executive team, you'll shape investment strategy, portfolio priorities and capital allocation decisions that support housing delivery, regeneration and economic growth across England.
You will be an experienced investment, fund management or portfolio professional with a strong track record overseeing complex investment portfolios, balance sheets or multi-asset investment programmes. You'll bring excellent strategic judgement, strong financial stewardship and the ability to translate market insight into investment priorities.
Most importantly, you'll be excited by the opportunity to help build a new public financial institution and shape how billions of pounds of investment are deployed to deliver lasting impact.
Backed by £16bn of new financial capacity, the National Housing Bank will work with investors, lenders, developers, housing associations and government partners to crowd in more than £50bn of private investment and support the delivery of 500,000 additional homes across England.
This is a rare opportunity to join at a formative stage and play a leading role in shaping how one of the UK's most significant public financial institutions delivers housing, regeneration and growth in the years ahead.

These roles form part of a wider recruitment campaign for six Director-level positions across the National Housing Bank, spanning the Chief Investment Office, Equity and Guarantees functions.
