Private Client Tax Senior Manager

TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded mid tier chartered accountancy practice in their search for a Private Client Tax Senior Manager to join their growing team in Ashford.

This is a newly created position that has arisen as a result of the firms continued growth making it an excellent opportunity to join a successful and expanding Private Client Tax department with genuine long term career prospects. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading complex advisory projects managing significant client relationships and supporting the continued growth of the team.

Working alongside Partners and Directors youll advise an impressive portfolio of high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals entrepreneurs families family offices and trusts delivering bespoke tax planning solutions across a broad range of complex private client matters. This is a predominantly advisory role with strategic oversight of compliance work.

The Role

As a Private Client Tax Senior Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals families and trusts.
  
• Leading complex private client advisory projects across a broad range of tax matters.
  
• Advising on residency domicile and international tax matters including the new long term residence Temporary Repatriation Facility (TRF) and Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) rules.
  
• Advising on historic non domiciled taxation the remittance basis and mixed fund rules.
  
• Providing advice on the UK Statutory Residence Test and double tax treaties.
  
• Delivering sophisticated Inheritance Tax planning including trusts wills Business Relief Residence Nil Rate Band pensions and succession planning.
  
• Advising on UK and offshore trust structures Family Investment Companies and property holding structures.
  
• Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and responding to HMRC nudge letters.
  
• Preparing and reviewing high quality technical reports and delivering clear commercial advice.
  
• Managing client relationships budgets fee estimates and billing.
  
• Supporting business development initiatives and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships.
  
• Mentoring and developing Managers and junior members of the team.
  
• Working closely with the Partners on strategic client matters and contributing to the continued growth of the Private Client Tax service line.
  

Requirements

Were looking for an experienced Private Client Tax professional who is seeking a long term career within a growing and ambitious practice.

Youll ideally have:

• CTA qualified
  
• Significant post qualification experience within Private Client Tax.
  
• Experience advising high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals within a Mid Tier or Big Four accountancy practice.
  
• STEP qualification would be advantageous.
  
• Strong technical knowledge across:
  • New long term residence TRF and FIG rules.
    
  • Historic non domiciled taxation remittance basis and mixed fund rules.
    
  • UK Statutory Residence Test.
    
  • Double tax treaties.
    
  • UK and offshore trusts.
    
  • Inheritance Tax planning including trusts wills Business Relief Residence Nil Rate Band pensions and other reliefs.
    
  • Property holding structures and Family Investment Companies.
    
  • HMRC enquiries and nudge letters.
    
• Excellent report writing and technical advisory skills.
  
• Experience managing billing fee estimates budgets and client expectations.
  
• Strong leadership and relationship management skills.

The Personal Tax Manager will be: ACCA ATT or CTA qualification. Significant experience in a tax role within a practice environment. Confidence in a client-facing role.
