The Commercial teamis responsible forcommercial planning businessperformanceand insight across Retail. We work closely with teams across the business toidentifyopportunities optimise performance and support better commercial exciting time to join as we continue to build new capabilities and shape how Retail plans measures and improves performance.
About the role
The Senior Commercial Manageris responsible foroptimising the commercial performance ofourElectrical & Toys business.
Working in partnership with Category Commercial Finance Supply Chain Marketing and DI the role evaluates trading performance challenges existingplansandidentifiesopportunities to improve commercial outcomes through pricing strategy promotional participation marketinginvestmentand other commercial levers.
You willbe responsible forensuring the business consistently makes better commercial decisions throughhigh qualityplanning.
- Evaluating commercial opportunities and recommend the actions that optimise salesmarginand cash.
- Using trading performance customerinsightand market intelligence to develop evidence-based commercial recommendations.
- Challenging plans and assumptions ensuring commercial decisions are commercially robust and aligned to businessobjectives.
- Building trusted partnerships across Category Commercial Finance Supply Chain Marketing and Data Intelligence to drive aligned commercial outcomes.
- Owningthe commercial performance framework providing clear visibility of trading performancerisksand opportunities.
- Own the divisional planning process leading the development of annual budgets periodicforecastsand commercial plans.
- Develop robust commercial scenarios and recommendations that respond to changing market conditions and business performance
- Leadingthe divisional trading performance cadence ensuringtimelyreportingforecastingand performance reviews.
- Monitoringdelivery against budgets and forecasts recommending actions to maximise commercial performance.
- Developing team capability through coaching continuousimprovementand knowledge sharing.
- Fostering a culture of accountabilityinnovationand continuous improvement
About you
- Strong commercial planning capability with the ability to develop robust trading plansforecastsand strategic priorities.
- Strong analytical and influencing skills with the ability to translate insight into commercial action.
- Data literate with a working knowledge of data platforms querying tools and analytics to support commercial decision-making.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking with strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Able to distil complex information into clear recommendationsprioritiesand actionable plans.
- Builds strong cross-functional relationships and influences stakeholders deliver business outcomes.
- Drives a culture of continuous improvementidentifyingopportunities to optimise commercial performance and ways of working.
