Capacity Planning is a high-powered creative team which is shaping the transportation planning and execution within the Last Mile & Middle Mile operations network. This team develops and applies innovative transportation management concepts to improve and enhance the transportation network and bring the best customer experience through reliability and cost efficiencies.
We are looking for a Capacity Planning Manager to own and implement strategic cross-functional management initiatives.

- Lead process improvement initiatives with aim to improve operational performance.
- Establish and maintain the operations metrics and communicate them to leadership and other. stakeholders through daily/weekly review meetings
- Document the standard operating procedures and take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments and among the network.
- Work closely with stakeholders to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their areas.
- Independently own the designing developing deploying and maintaining the large scale projects.
A day in the life
As Capacity Planning Manager youll drive and manage the implementation of creative data-driven change in Amazon leading improvement initiatives. Youll use strategic thinking to define and implement an efficient project plan.
Capacity Planning Managers have significant responsibilities and youll deal with complex challenges with creativity innovation and leadership. With a responsibility extending beyond process improvements you could also contribute to improving other areas of the business like diversity equity and inclusion.
About the team
Amazon couldnt deliver at pace without the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team. As part of ATS youll be welcomed into a diverse team that plays a central role in our success. Using air sea and road transport as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology youll help Amazons transport run at maximum efficiency. Our team captures data and uses it to drive decisions. They are key to making Amazon more innovative and efficient. - Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Math Engineering Science or Business
- Experience in business analytics with demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis using SQL databases and Excel in a business environment
- Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams including operations
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience using Excel and querying relational databases with SQL (or other query language) and working with large complex data sets to design models and scenarios
- Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python SQL or Tableau
