Job description
We are seeking a diligent and empathetic Paralegal to join our Crime and Extradition team in the City Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, exceptional communicational skills, and a sincere commitment to assisting clients through complex legal procedures. As a paralegal you will collaborate with Solicitors in handling cases involving criminal charges, investigations, trails and extradition matters, and other criminal law issues. This role presents an opportunity to contribute significantly to the lives of individuals entangled in legal matters. Your Profile The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Criminal Law and will demonstrate: * Excellent communication skills * A sincere commitment to supporting clients through challenging legal proceedings * A proven ability in managing cases related to criminal charges, investigations, trails and extradition matters * Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capacity to establish rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds We Expect the Ideal Candidate to: * Work effectively both individually and part of a team * Conduct through initial consultations with clients to gather information regarding their legal matters and personal circumstances * Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to bolster case preparations and strategy formulation * Coordinate with clients, opposing parties, and relevant professionals involved in cases to collect evidence and exchange information * Manage case files meticulously, ensuring accuracy and organisation of all documentation * Assist in scheduling court hearings and meetings, on behalf of clients * Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings as necessary, taking notes and assisting with case presentation * Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines consistently What We Are Seeking: * A candidate of adapting quickly to the role * familiarity with legal aid processesPrevious experience in a legal environment, preferably in criminal law and extradition cases * Ideally, the candidate will have police station accreditation or alternatively a commitment to obtaining this in the near future Working With us * We offer continuous training and support to foster your professional growth as a valued member of our dynamic and expanding team * We will offer ongoing training and support to develop your career as part of a strong and growing multi-office team * Our offices are friendly, working entirely paperless with recent significant investment in modern IT to enable you to work proficiently * Our comprehensive benefits package include generous annual leave allowances, providing 23 days (plus bank holidays/Christmas and New Year).
