An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the clinical coding team at SWBH. You will train as a clinical coder and be fully supported through an extensive training and mentoring process to attain the National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC). You will analyse source documentation and accurately code clinical information relating to diagnosis and operations using the ICD-10 and OPCS 4 classifications to meet trust deadlines. The post-holder will be expected to attend internal and external training which could involve travelling. You Will Need To Have * GCSE biology grade C or above * A good understanding of Anatomy & Physiology * An understanding of medical terminology. * Excellent analytical skills Please note that applicants without previous experience will be considered for this positon * Complete accurate clinical coding to national standards. * Complete the national Clinical Coding Standards Course * Progress through an extensive internal training programme * Work towards attaining the NCCQ Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWB) serves Birmingham and the Black Country – one of the country’s most culturally diverse areas.
