Hampshire Cricket – Men’s Team Physiotherapist Department / Area: Science and Sports Medicine Reports to: Head of Science and Sports Medicine – Craig de Weymarn Location: Utilita Bowl & Hilton Southampton Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH The Role Hampshire Cricket are seeking applications for an HPC, CSP registered Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist for an exciting role within our Science and Medicine Department. This roles sits at the heart of a high-performance multi-disciplinary team spanning physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, psychology, nutrition, coaching and medicine. The successful candidate will join this team and work alongside our current Men’s physiotherapists. The role will provide physiotherapy support across both professionally contracted staff as well as our academy players and will be ideal for someone with prior experience of working within the elite sports sector (especially cricket) however this is not necessarily an essential prerequisite for someone with appropriate levels of MSK experience. The role will involve working across training and match environments as well as specific rehabilitation settings. You will be a valued part of a wider MDT which stretches across both men’s and women’s pathways. The role demands at least 3 years of experience working as a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Please note Sports Therapist’s will not be considered for this particular role. Key Responsibilities * In combination with our existing physiotherapist’s deliver high-quality physiotherapy across training, match play and rehabilitation environments for both senior and academy players. * Assess, diagnose and manage all musculoskeletal and cricket related injuries with a focus on maximising player availability and long-term performance. * Design and deliver individualised rehabilitation programs grounded in robust clinical reasoning and evidence-based practise. * Provide match-day and training-day cover throughout the competitive season (April-September) * Communicate clearly both internally within our immediate Science and Medicine team as well as to the wider support group including coaches and other key stakeholders. * Collaborate effectivelywith other members of the MDT including strength and conditioning coaches, doctors, psychologists, nutritionists and coaches to optimise player support. * Contribute to player profiling and assist with screening and monitoring processes for contracted and academy players. * Be familiar with and develop injury prevention systems to best inform player management within the Science and Medicine department and wider coaching group. * Assist in the effective remote management of players on franchise and international duty in combination with other third-party medical teams. * Support emergency care provision through mandatory in-season training * Work closely with the coaching staff to supplement player development plans. This requires the ability to thrive within a broad multi-disciplinary team. Experience and Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BSc/MSc) * Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) * Evidence to demonstrate the Right to Work in the UK. * Membership with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) * 3 years experience of working within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy * Evidence of proactive continuing professional development * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * High level of computer literacy * Employment and academic references * Clean full UK driving licence * Previous experience of working in professional sports environment (cricket most favourably - and/or understanding of the game of cricket and associated injuries/conditions). * Pre-hospital emergency care qualification equivalent to PHICIS Responsible to: * Head of Science and Medicine * Director of Cricket Considerations Utilita Bowl is an equal opportunities employer.
