Sous Chef Luxury Restaurant | West Mersea An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join the team at a luxury restaurant in West Mersea. We're looking for someone who loves exceptional food, works with the finest seasonal produce, and enjoys leading a team in a quality-driven kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play a key role in delivering outstanding dining experiences while helping to inspire and develop those around you. The Role As Sous Chef, you will: * Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. * Lead kitchen service, preparation, and closing procedures. * Train, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team across all sections. * Manage ordering, stock control, and maintain exceptional kitchen standards. * Contribute to menu development and take ownership of key menu sections. * Lead by example, ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail in every service. About You We're looking for someone who: * Has at least 3 years' experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef within a quality restaurant. * Is a confident leader with excellent people management skills. * Balances creativity with consistency and strong organisational skills. * Is ready to take the next step in their career within a high-end hospitality environment. Hours * 40-45 hours per week across 4-5 days. * Two consecutive days off each week (Monday and Tuesday). * A variety of shifts including: o 7:30am-3:00pm o 9:00am-4:00pm o 4:00pm-11:00pm o 9:00am-11:00pm (with a two-hour break) * Closed every year on 25th and 26th December.
