Job description
Sawmill Machine Operative | Yeovil | Up to £14.50 per hour If you take pride in a job done right and want to build real, hands-on skill on the machines, this Sawmill Machine Operative role offers exactly that. Join an established timber processing operation where accuracy and craftsmanship are valued every single day. As a Sawmill Machine Operative, you will benefit from: Free on-site parking Canteen and washroom facilities Holiday bonus scheme that rewards length of service Genuine development opportunities within the role and department Full training provided on all machinery Consistent Monday to Friday daytime hours, no weekend work As a Sawmill Machine Operative, your responsibilities will include: Selecting timber boards for sawing and machining Operating rip saws, bandsaws, beam saw and moulders to fulfil works orders Maximising yield from every piece of timber processed Accurately tallying sawn and machined timber onto production paperwork Stacking, banding and labelling completed orders safely and presentably Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work area As a Sawmill Machine Operative, your experience will include: Previous experience operating machinery in a timber or sawmill environment A relevant certificate, diploma or degree in timber machining (preferred, not essential) Strong basic maths and a good standard of general education Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling of heavy timber Fork...
