Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 mental health nurses in our NHS Forth Valley Prisons. The post will initially be based at HMP Glenochil but postholder may be required to work over- any of the 3 prison sites. Our vision is to deliver trauma informed, person centred and safe & effective care to our patients. We are recruiting dynamic, compassionate and enthusiastic staff who want to be part of a patient centred and multi disciplinary integrated team. The team are currently undertaking new and exciting opportunities within the Mental Health nursing role. You will deliver high quality care and treatment within this unique environment, working in partnership with SPS, and wider agencies. You will be a vital part of a holistic service, making a significant contribution to the mental health care needs, outcomes and experience of a complex and vulnerable population. The post holder will be a first level registered mental health nurse, looking to develop and enhance their clinical skills and knowledge. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will have the ability to work autonomously, with a high level of clinical decision making skills. They will be ambitious and a committed individual, supporting the development of a modern and innovative healthcare service. Forth Valley Prison Healthcare promotes staff personal and professional ongoing development. All posts are subject to rotation. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post. The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
