Job description

Aspen Medical Practice
Nurse/Paramedic Practitioner

Closing date: 14 August 2026

Job summary
Aspen Medical Practice is looking to appoint two enthusiastic and experienced clinicians to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team. Each position may be filled by either a Paramedic Practitioner or a Nurse Practitioner.

We are particularly keen to hear from clinicians who value teamwork, are committed to safe and compassionate patient care, and are willing to continue expanding their clinical skills and the range of patients and conditions they are able to assess and manage.

The best way to understand what makes Aspen different is to come and meet us. We warmly welcome informal visits and would be very happy to show you around, introduce you to the team and answer any questions. To arrange a visit, please email: aspen.riskandcompliance@nhs.net

Main duties of the job
These are varied and rewarding roles for clinicians who are passionate about providing safe, compassionate and patient-centred care within general practice.

Applicants must have completed a minor illness course and a prescribing course. They must be confident working autonomously within their professional competence while recognising when to seek advice or clinical support.

The successful candidates must be prepared to work in minor illness clinics and undertake home visits as the practices visiting clinician, with GP support available. They must also be able to work one enhanced access session each week, although the day can be agreed flexibly.

You will work alongside our established team of Paramedic Practitioners, GPs and wider multidisciplinary team. Your role will include assessing and managing patients presenting with a broad range of minor illnesses, as well as undertaking home visits as the practices visiting clinician, with GP support available when required.

We are keen to support the successful candidates in continuing to develop their clinical knowledge, confidence and scope of practice.

About us
We are a large, well-established GP practice caring for approximately 32,000 patients across Gloucester. Since forming through the merger of four practices in 2018, we have grown into a single multidisciplinary team of around 150 colleagues, working together to provide high-quality care for our patients and their families.

You will be joining a highly skilled and collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes GPs, nurses, Paramedic Practitioners, clinical pharmacists, frailty specialists, results nurses, a mental health nurse, social prescribers, trainees and experienced administrative colleagues.

Our team-based approach enables clinicians to work together, share expertise and provide coordinated, high-quality care to our patients.

We are proud of the care we provide, but we are equally committed to making Aspen a positive, inclusive and sustainable place to work.

Aspen Medical Practice is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from candidates from all backgrounds. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process.
