Job SummaryApplicants are invited to apply for a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with specialist interest in Skin Cancer Pathology management. This post will be a joint post based at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) with sessions at North West Anglia Foundation Trust (NWAFT) amounting to 50% at each location except for the on-call duties based in Cambridge. The role will also include general Maxillofacial Surgery clinics and surgery, treating trauma patients and on-call duties.
This is a new post and the principal remit of this post is to provide a high quality Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery service.
Main Duties of the JobThe post holder will complement the existing Maxillofacial consultant team of 6 Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons and a cleft surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital. They will be expected to participate in the on call rota alongside Peterborough Maxillofacial Surgery department on a 1:9 basis. Additional team members include 4 speciality registrars (including one out of program research registrar who continues to participate in the on call activity), 6 DCT's, 6 clinical fellows (who provide out of hours cover), 5 speciality surgeons and 1 FY2.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and have a CCT in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
