Job description

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience before pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Mental Health, Teaching, Counselling or Therapy?

Protocol Education is recruiting passionate Psychology graduates to work in welcoming secondary schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland.

The Role

As a Psychology Graduate, you could work as a:

  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Behaviour Support Assistant
  • SEMH Support Assistant
  • Learning Mentor
  • Autism Support Assistant
  • Pastoral Support Assistant

You'll gain valuable experience by:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Working with young people with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning
  • Building positive relationships that encourage confidence and resilience
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Working alongside experienced teachers, SENDCos and pastoral teams

We're Looking For

  • A degree in Psychology (or a closely related subject)
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic individuals
  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
