Job descriptionRegistered Manager - Childrens Care Home Location: Reading Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum Contract: Full Time, Permanent We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and driven Registered Manager to lead our new childrens residential care home. Youll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support for vulnerable children and young people aged 8-17 with emotional and behavioural needs. As the Registered Manager, you will be Ofsted-registered and play a vital role in setting the homes culture, recruiting and training staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Lead, manage, and develop a team to deliver outstanding care and support. Ensure the home meets all Ofsted regulations and achieves a minimum “Good” rating. Create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment for children. Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding processes. Manage budgets, staffing rotas, and operational procedures. Liaise with local authorities, schools, and health professionals. Qualifications Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards). Minimum 2 years of experience in a management role within a childrens residential setting. Sound understanding of relevant legislation: Childrens Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, Safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one). Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
