Job Responsibilities * Conduct asbestos surveys and inspections in line with relevant UK guidance and best practice. * Identify, assess, and document asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within commercial and domestic environments. * Produce clear, accurate asbestos survey reports, including recommendations for management, sampling, or removal. * Review existing asbestos management plans and supporting documentation to ensure they remain fit for purpose. * Provide professional advice to clients on asbestos risks, control measures, and compliance requirements. * Support clients with planning and coordination of remedial actions, including liaising with contractors where required. * Maintain accurate records, site notes, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards. * Ensure all work is carried out safely, following relevant health and safety procedures and risk assessments. * Keep up to date with changes in legislation, guidance, and industry standards affecting asbestos management. Required Skills & Qualifications * Proven experience as an Asbestos Consultant or in a closely related asbestos surveying/consultancy role. * Working knowledge of UK asbestos legislation and guidance, including duties under the Control of Asbestos Regulations. * Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce detailed, client-ready documentation. * Excellent attention to detail when identifying potential ACMs and recording findings accurately. * Relevant asbestos training and certification, such as: o UKAS/BOHS-accredited asbestos surveying qualifications (as applicable to the role). o Asbestos awareness and/or higher-level asbestos training appropriate to consultancy duties. * Competence in using surveying and documentation tools to manage site information effectively. * Strong communication skills to explain findings and recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders. * Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel to sites across Nottingham and surrounding areas. * Full UK driving licence (where required for site visits).
