Job description

About the Role

As an Automation Assistant Apprentice youll help colleagues across Codi Group identify opportunities to improve the way we work through automation digital tools and smarter processes.

Working alongside colleagues from Finance IT and operational teams youll support the development of workflow solutions help document and analyse business processes explore ways technology can improve productivity and use data to identify opportunities for improvement across the organisation

Alongside your role youll complete a three-year Degree Apprenticeship in Applied Data Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University combining academic learning with practical workplace experience.

Youll have the opportunity to:

  • Support the creation and implementation of automated workflows and process improvements.
  • Learn how digital tools can remove repetitive tasks and create efficiencies.
  • Work with colleagues from different areas of the business to understand challenges and identify solutions.
  • Help document and analyse business processes.
  • Use data and reporting tools to help identify trends inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop knowledge of automation data science artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to projects that make a real difference to how we deliver services across Wales.

Skills and Experience Needed

Were looking for someone who is curious motivated and eager to learn. Youll enjoy solving problems thinking logically and finding better ways of doing things. You dont need to have worked in automation before but you should have an interest in technology digital tools and how they can improve the way people work.

This role would suit someone who enjoys analysing information spotting patterns and asking questions. Youll be comfortable working with different people across the organisation confident to ask questions challenge existing ways of working and help identify practical solutions that improve efficiency and outcomes.

An interest in data analysis Microsoft Excel automation tools artificial intelligence and emerging technologies would be beneficial although full training and support will be provided

To be eligible for the Degree Apprenticeship in Applied Data Science youll need to meet Cardiff Metropolitan Universitys entry requirements which currently include:

Three A Levels at grades CCC (or 104112 UCAS Tariff points).

Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English Language and Mathematics/Mathematics Numeracy.

This is a three-year Degree Apprenticeship opportunity with a salary of 24454.04 and a 37-hour working week including dedicated time for university study and attendance.

The role will involve travel between our Newport Cardiff and Swansea offices as well as attending practical workshops at Cardiff Metropolitan Universitys Llandaff campus as part of the Degree Apprenticeship programme
