Job description

Job Title: Senior Skills and Education Co-ordinator

Location: Lincoln

Contract length: 6 months (long-term potential)

Work Structure: Primarily on-site with some flexibility

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Senior Skills and Education Co-ordinator to join a World leader offering Products, Solutions and Services across the entire Energy value chain on behalf of a well established manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations. You will shape a competitive, sustainable supply chain, partnering globally to drive productivity, quality, and digitalization.

Based at Siemens Energy in Lincoln, this Senior Skills and Education Co-ordinator role supports and coordinates development programs for apprentices, interns, and graduates across the site. The position is responsible for designing training pathways that comply with Ofsted and Department for Education (DfE) regulations, managing relationships with educational institutions, and serving as the second nominee for Ofsted inspections. It combines hands-on engineering training management with regulatory oversight, stakeholder collaboration, and candidate mentorship.

Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Support, manage, and facilitate early career programs, including apprenticeships, internships, and graduate schemes across the Siemens Energy Lincoln site.
  • Design structured training pathways and learning modules that comply with Department for Education (DfE) and Ofsted standards.
  • Collaborate closely with external educational partners, such as colleges and universities, to align training schedules and coursework.
  • Serve as the designated second nominee for Ofsted, stepping in for the Skills and Education Manager when required.
  • Ensure all apprenticeship training delivery, Apprenticeship Standard structures, and End Point Assessments (EPA) strictly meet official regulatory and government-funding requirements.
  • Implement and monitor Safeguarding and Prevent policies to protect and support all early career trainees.
  • Advise early career candidates on skills development, career progression, and upskilling opportunities.
  • Act as a central link between trainees, internal engineering managers, HR, and external education providers.
  • Travel between local sites or partner institutions as necessary to manage trainees and oversee program execution.

Essential Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience delivering skills development within an engineering training environment.
  • A minimum of a Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering, Learning and Development (L&D), or a related discipline.
  • Deep working knowledge of apprenticeship training delivery, Apprenticeship Standard structures, and End Point Assessments (EPA).
  • Solid understanding of government-funded training schemes, Department for Education (DfE) guidelines, and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • Direct experience navigating and participating in Ofsted inspections.
  • Strong ability to implement and advise on Safeguarding and Prevent policies to support young learners and trainees.
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn, strong organizational capabilities, and sharp problem-solving skills.
  • A full UK driving license and the ability to work flexible hours and travel to different locations as needed.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Holding a Level 5+ qualification in HR, Learning & Development, or Engineering Management (going beyond the required Level 4).
  • Formally recognized teaching or assessing qualifications (e.g., CAVA, A1, TAQA, or PGCert in Education).
  • Direct experience acting as a lead or deputy nominee during a live Ofsted inspection in an apprenticeship setting (rather than just general inspection experience).
  • Hands-on experience simultaneously managing all three pathways (apprenticeships, internships, AND graduate schemes) in a large corporate setting.
  • Previous experience specifically within energy, manufacturing, or heavy machinery sectors (like Siemens, Rolls-Royce, or similar engineering firms), rather than general tech or construction training environments.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship management systems (AMS) and government funding portals (like the Apprenticeship Service/ILR tracking).
