Job Summary

Old Kent Road Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team. We welcome applications for both full‑time and part‑time positions.

We are an established, forward‑thinking practice with a team of eight GPs providing high‑quality primary care to a diverse and multicultural patient population in South East London. Main Duties of the Job

• A mix of face‑to‑face and telephone consultations.
• Home visits as part of the clinical rota.
• Participation in the duty doctor/on‑call rota.
• Reviewing investigations, prescriptions, correspondence and clinical documents.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will undertake the full range of duties associated with General Practice, including:

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.
• Prescribe safely and in accordance with national and local guidance.
• Review laboratory results, correspondence and clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.
• Participate in duty doctor sessions and urgent care as part of the practice rota.
• Refer patients appropriately to secondary and community care services.
• Participate in practice meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Comply with all practice policies relating to confidentiality, safeguarding, information governance and health and safety.

Job responsibilities

Old Kent Road Surgery is seeking a motivated and compassionate Salaried GP to join our friendly eight‑doctor practice in South East London. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care to our diverse registered population, undertaking a range of clinical duties including face‑to‑face and telephone consultations, chronic disease management, home visits, prescription reviews, referrals and participation in the duty doctor rota. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development and maintain a healthy work‑life balance in a modern and well‑equipped practice environment.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
• General Practice (or equivalent) and on a Medical Performers List.
• Excellent communication and clinical decision‑making skills.
• Experience using EMIS Web.
• Specialist clinical interests.
• Experience in teaching, training or quality improvement.
• Interest in service development and innovation within primary care.

Experience

• The successful candidate will have experience working in general practice. They should be confident working independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in managing long‑term conditions, urgent care, clinical governance, and delivering high‑quality patient‑centred care is desirable. Familiarity with EMIS Web and NHS primary care systems is essential.
• Experience in developing or managing a clinical special interest area.
• Experience of clinical audit, quality improvement projects, and service development.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or supporting medical students and GP trainees.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative models of care.
• Involvement in enhanced services, QOF, or other primary care improvement initiatives.
