The Role
The company is looking for an experienced Gates & Barriers Service Engineer to join its growing team based in Bredbury, Stockport.
This is a field-based role involving the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of automated gates, barriers, bollards, and access control systems. The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair automated gates, barriers, bollards, and access control systems.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, and automation faults.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Respond to breakdown call-outs and complete repairs efficiently in normal working hours.
- Replace motors, control panels, safety devices, photocells, intercoms, and associated components.
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Provide excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.
- Maintain to a good standard tools, equipment and vehicle.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience servicing and repairing automated gates, barriers, or access control systems is essential.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
