The nursery offers bright, spacious learning environments with free-flow access to beautifully designed garden areas, allowing children to move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor learning throughout the day. Children benefit from a rich and varied curriculum, enhanced by engaging Forest School experiences that encourage exploration, independence, confidence, and a love of the natural world.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the nursery, leading the team by example, and helping to maintain the high standards of care and education the nursery is known for.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Third in Charge is essential.
  • Experience supporting the leadership of an early years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor nursery teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • A nurturing, child-centred approach with a passion for delivering outstanding early years education.

What's On Offer

  • Up to £35,800 per annum
  • Discounted childcare
  • Pension scheme
  • Sick pay
  • Additional day off for your birthday
  • Annual leave increasing with service
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Staff incentives and recognition schemes
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Supportive leadership team
  • Excellent opportunities for career progression

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Lead and inspire the nursery team, promoting high standards of care and education.
  • Act as the Nursery Manager in their absence, ensuring the smooth running of the setting.
  • Coach, mentor, and support practitioners to encourage continuous professional development.
  • Monitor the quality of teaching, learning, and children's experiences across the nursery.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Support the delivery of engaging indoor and outdoor learning opportunities, including Forest School experiences.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted requirements are consistently met.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, welcoming, and home-from-home environment for every child.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and verification of the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
