Main duties of the job

Provide highquality general medical care toregistered patients, including:

Facetoface, telephone, and online consultations

Diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute andchronic conditions

Undertake routine and urgent clinical appointments inline with the agreed sessions

Manage and review clinical correspondence,pathology results, and reports

Prescribe safely and costeffectively in accordancewith local and national guidelines

OnCall / Duty Doctor Responsibility (EssentialRequirement)

Act as the oncall / duty GP for one day per week (oron a rota basis)

Responsibilities typically include:

Managing sameday urgent clinical requests

Providing clinical advice and supervision tothe wider clinical team

Reviewing and triaging urgent results and clinical messages

Supporting the safe management of unplanned patient demand

Job responsibilities

Deliver routine, urgent, and on the day GPconsultationsface to face, telephone, and digital

Manage acute and chronic conditions, includingprescribing and follow-up

Participate in duty- on-call GP cover,including management of same day demand and clinical triage (mandatorywhere specified)

Review and act on clinical correspondence,pathology results, and clinical tasks

Maintain accurate clinical records and coding tosupport quality and QOF outcomes

Quality, Governance & Teamworking

Contribute to QOF achievement, clinical audit, andquality improvement activity

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinaryteam, offering advice and support to colleagues

Participate in practice meetings, training, andlearning events

Comply with all practice policies, NHS guidance,and governance requirements

Full GMC registration and inclusion on theGP Performers List

Engagement in appraisal, revalidation, andcontinuing professional development (CPD)

Commitment to professional standards, patient safety, andconfidentiality

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List Commitment to CPD, annual appraisal, and revalidation Willingness to comply with all practice policies and procedures. Experience of providing comprehensive general medical services in an NHS setting Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients, including those with complex health and social needs Experience of managing acute presentations and long-term conditions in primary care Experience of contributing to on call-duty GP cover and managing same day demand
• Sound knowledge of NICE guidance, QOF requirements, and NHS clinical governance Understanding of safeguarding adults and children and professional responsibilities Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, and information governance requirements
