  • Lead or provide senior technical oversight for:

    • Feasibility, concept and Pre‑FEED studies

    • Technical and economic evaluations

    • Technology assessment and selection

    • Integration of support facilities (ammonia, fertiliser, urea & petrochemicals production infrastructure)

    • Due diligence and owners engineering reviews

    • Development and review of high‑quality technical deliverables (reports, presentations, process models)

    • Application of engineering judgment to identify risks, opportunities, cost drivers, and performance sensitivities

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, engaging effectively at a technical level and supporting discussions on project strategy, investment readiness, execution approaches, and market positioning.

  • Support KBR Consulting’s growth strategy through proposal and tender preparation, technical inputs to bids, and participation in client meetings and workshops.

  • Contribute to thought leadership, market positioning, and internal capability development within ammonia and derivative services.

  • Mentor and guide less‑experienced engineers and consultants; develop internal methodologies, tools, and best practices; collaborate across KBR’s global organisation; prepare and deliver conference papers and client presentations at industry events.

Experience & Technical Capability

  • Knowledge of associated facility operations, design considerations, and efficiency improvement.

  • Process design understanding and feasibility/configuration studies for ammonia and derivatives infrastructure projects.

  • Technical due diligence and lender’s engineer support.

Essential Skills

  • Relevant years of experience in engineering consultancy, project development, or operating company roles.

  • Demonstrable experience in ammonia and its derivatives, fertiliser, urea, or gas processing projects, including:

    • Ammonia production facilities

    • Storage, loading and unloading systems

    • Treatment systems (dehydration, acid gas removal, etc.)

  • Strong experience supporting feasibility, concept and Pre‑FEED studies.

  • Preferred: prior involvement in technical due diligence or lender’s engineer roles.

  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and deliver high‑quality outputs on tight schedules.

Professional Competencies

  • Ability to work within a ‘sell‑do’ consulting model.

  • Strong self‑starter with commercial awareness.

  • Front‑end consulting skills: scoping, selling, delivery.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; concise reports and presentations for all client levels.

  • Confidence to work across client organisations from Board to site.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to evolving client needs.

  • Contribution to proposal preparation, execution planning, budgeting; identification of new opportunities and leads.

  • Support a continuous improvement culture: development of processes, tools, and methodologies.

Other Functions

  • Based in Leatherhead office (other locations considered).

  • Primary degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Knowledge of process simulation (e.g., Hysys, UniSim, Aspen Plus) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Positive, flexible, collaborative attitude.

  • Strong cultural awareness and diplomacy when working with clients, partners, vendors, and internal teams.
