Duties of the Role
As a nursery kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for the cleaning and preparation of various areas within the catering area of the nursery kitchen. Duties include washing crockery, cutlery, and cooking equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across both front and back-of-house areas. You will also receive, check, and store food, consumables, chemicals, and other items, ensuring correct storage, rotation, and stock levels. The role involves pushing food trolleys around the nursery to deliver food to the staff supervising the children in the playrooms. You may be asked to assist with stocktaking, maintaining food records, and supporting the cleaning of the pot wash and kitchen areas.
You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team. Your working hours will be 10am-6pm Monday to Friday (9.30am start one morning a week)
Skills and qualifications required
You must have the ability to undertake cleaning to a high standard with good communication skills, a positive attitude to delivering good customer service and a flexible approach to work. You will have an understanding of any Health and Safety information and guidance, in order to carry out the safe use of chemicals and equipment, however training will be provided.
It is important that you are able to undertake physical aspects of the post, and have a flexible and positive approach to work, with a professional manner.
Due to the nature of this role, it requires a full enhanced DBS check.
