First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is looking for an enthusiastic Business Administration Apprentice to join our Property Care team.

This is an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn gaining a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Administrator qualification through Oldham College while developing valuable experience within a busy repairs and maintenance service.

Youll work alongside experienced colleagues helping to manage information relating to repairs subcontractors purchase orders and operational performance. Youll receive structured training and support throughout your apprenticeship helping you develop the skills needed for a successful career in administration.

About the role

Working with our operational and commercial teams youll help ensure subcontracted repairs are managed accurately efficiently and in line with agreed processes.

Youll learn how to:

  • Raise works orders and purchase orders accurately and promptly
  • Maintain records relating to repairs contractors and completed work
  • Check that the correct job cost and supplier information has been recorded
  • Support the administration of approved contractors and subcontractors
  • Review invoices claims and supporting information
  • Update repairs finance and job management systems
  • Gather and maintain data to support performance reporting
  • Respond professionally to queries from customers colleagues contractors and suppliers
  • Prepare information for meetings and take accurate minutes
  • Organise documents photographs and other information needed for audit purposes
  • Support the investigation of complaints and identify opportunities to improve services
  • Help the team review and improve administrative processes

Throughout your apprenticeship youll receive on-the-job training from experienced colleagues and attend Oldham College on agreed dates to complete the classroom element of your qualification.

  • Understands the importance of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Is committed to successfully completing their Level 3 apprenticeship

You dont need previous experience of working in housing or repairs. Were looking for someone with the right attitude enthusiasm and willingness to develop.

Entry requirements

Youll need to meet the entry requirements for the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship delivered by Oldham College.

Youll need:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above or an equivalent qualification in Maths and English

Any previous customer service administration financial or work-related experience would be helpful but it isnt essential.
