Design & Technology (DT) Technician - Secondary School, BatleyLocation: Batley, West Yorkshire Job Type: Long-Term Temporary Assignment Start Date: SEptember Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Are you an experienced Design & Technology Technician looking for your next long-term opportunity?We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable DT Technician to join a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Batley. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting outstanding teaching and learning within the Design & Technology department.The successful candidate must have recent experience working as a DT Technician within a UK secondary school, having undertaken a similar role within the last two years. Key Responsibilities * Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical DT lessons. * Maintain workshops and specialist teaching areas to a high standard. * Support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering and Graphics. * Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced and stored safely. * Assist with stock control, ordering and organisation of resources. * Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery and equipment. * Support the implementation of health and safety procedures within the department. * Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with current health and safety regulations. * Provide technical support for practical demonstrations and project work. Essential Requirements? Recent experience working as a DT Technician in a UK secondary school within the last two years.? Strong knowledge of workshop practices, machinery and DT equipment.? Understanding of current health and safety legislation relevant to Design & Technology departments.? Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.? Excellent organisational and communication skills.? Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. Desirable * Experience supporting multiple DT specialisms. * Relevant technical qualifications. * First Aid qualification.
