Job description

Occupational Health Nurse / Advisor

Location:

Greater Manchester (WA3) Hours:

Monday to Friday, Full Time Salary:

£45,000£50,000 DOE (flexibility for the right candidate) Shape the Future of Occupational Health

Are you looking for more than just another Occupational Health role? Our client, a well-established international manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse or Advisor to lead the delivery of Occupational Health services at one of its key UK manufacturing sites. This is a business-critical appointment, with strong support from senior leadership and genuine long-term opportunities to influence the future direction of Occupational Health across the wider organisation. While the role is initially focused on a single site, the business has ambitious plans to develop its Occupational Health provision across multiple UK locations. For the right person, this offers the chance to help shape, influence and grow the service as the organisation evolves. The Opportunity

Working closely with the Head of HR and site leadership team, you'll become the trusted Occupational Health specialist, providing expert advice that supports both employee wellbeing and operational performance. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll combine clinical practice with strategic input, helping to create a proactive Occupational Health service rather than simply responding to health issues as they arise. Key Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for: Delivering health surveillance programmes including COSHH, Noise and HAVS.

Conducting fitness for work and capability assessments.

Supporting sickness absence management, rehabilitation and phased return to work programmes.

Providing advice on physical health, mental wellbeing and workplace adjustments.

Delivering workplace assessments and Drug & Alcohol testing where appropriate.

Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health legislation.

Monitoring workforce health trends and recommending preventative initiatives.

Working collaboratively with HR, managers and Health & Safety to continuously improve Occupational Health provision.

Contributing to the longer-term development of Occupational Health services as the organisation expands.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Health professional who enjoys working autonomously while building strong relationships across the business. You'll be equally comfortable delivering clinical assessments, advising managers and influencing positive change throughout the organisation. Ideally you'll have: Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.

Diploma in Occupational Health Practice (or equivalent Occupational Health qualification).

Occupational Health experience, ideally within manufacturing, engineering or another industrial environment.

Experience delivering health surveillance programmes and fitness for work assessments.

Strong report writing and communication skills.

A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently.

An interest in helping develop and improve Occupational Health services over time.

What's on Offer?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful international organisation that genuinely values Occupational Health and employee wellbeing. In return you'll benefit from: Salary in the region of

£45,000£50,000

depending on experience.

A business-critical role with strong senior leadership support.

The opportunity to shape and influence Occupational Health rather than simply maintain it.

Genuine long-term career development as the Occupational Health function expands.

A collaborative working environment where your expertise is valued.

Monday to Friday working with no shift work.

If you're looking for an opportunity where you can make a real difference today while helping shape the future of Occupational Health within a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
