An exciting opportunity has opened up for the right candidate to join a proactive professional multi-disciplinary Heart Failure team across Manchester Foundation NHS. We are seeking to recruit highly motivated Experienced Heart Failure Specialist Nurses; ideally applicants should already be working as a band 7 registered nurse in the field of cardiology with experience in managing heart failure both within the clinic setting and whilst they are inpatients. We are looking for candidates who have gained or are working towards their Independent Non-Medical prescriber qualification and clinical examination qualification.

Applicants will be involved in the collection and monitoring of National heart failure audit.

Main duties of the job
The role includes all aspects of heart failure nursing including patient assessment, management providing clinical advice, delivering training, writing reviewing policies and guidelines. Applicants must have excellent communication skills be a team player and able to work autonomously.

Qualifications
Essential

  • Registered General Nurse
  • ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Heart Failure/ Cardiology qualification or relevant post graduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent
  • Non Medical Prescriber, or willingness to undertake


Desirable

  • Recognised counselling or Advanced Communication training
  • Health related degree/willingness to work towards MSc


Experience
Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience at Band 6 in cardiology
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge base of Heart Failure
  • Responsibility for own area/caseload, which includes assessments, planning and implementation of care.
  • Teaching in practice
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency working
  • Good clinical and assessment skills supportive of the role.
  • Ability to design, plan and implement education programmes in a variety of settings.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Evidence of leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including IT competency.


Desirable

  • Experience leading a service, governance issues.
  • Experience of initiating and participating in change management processes.
  • Palliative care experience.
